Dr H Tamphaibema in MPT and Dr Madhusmitha Koch in BPT Awarded Gold Medal in Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. The award was presented by Hansraj Bhardwaj, Governor of Karnataka and chancellor of University, union law minister M Veerappa Moily, state minister for medical education and pro-chancellor of University Ramachandra Gowda.
 
Co-Curricular Activities

 
 
College celebrated Institution cum Graduation day on 30th January 2010 at Loyola Hall. Dr H S Ballal, Senate Member, RHUHS, Bangalore was the chief guest and Dr.M. Ramgopal Shetty Presided over the Function.
 
A hand on Workshop was taken by Dr Chandra Iyer, MPT Ortho on “Advanced Integrated Manual therapy techniques for Extremities and Spine from 20th to 27th July 2009 in college Audutorium.
 
MVSCOP with Sports and Fitness federation of India organized a workshop on “Advanced  Techniques in Sports Rehabilitation” and “Sports Medicine” by Dr Moushumi and Dr Ali Irani, president IAP on August 2nd  and 3rd.
 
Cultural and Sports Events
 
 
Dr.M.V.Shetty Memorial Inter Physiotherapy Cricket tournament was inaugurated by Mr Moidin Bava on 16th and 17th Jan. 2010 at NMPT Stadium, Panambur, Mangalore.
 
 
College of Physiotherapy organized Farewell  to PG and UG at Sulthan Bhatteri, on  18th January 2010. Dr M. Ramgopal Shetty Presided  the function with chief guests Mr Umesh Mallya.
 
 
College of Physiotherapy organized Freshers day to PG and UG at Lobos river view on 12th July 2009 with Dr M R Shetty As president and Mr Nagaraj Shetty as a chief guest for the function.
 
Extension Activities

What is the contribution of the Institution to the Civil Society in terms of Social Accountability:
 
Blood donation camp was organized by Dr. M.V. Shetty College of Physiotherapy in association with South Kanara Physiotherapy teachers association on 18.01.2009. During the camp 128 pints of blood were donated to the Govt. Wenlock Hospital.
 
 
12th June College organized the Blood Donation Camp on the Occasion of the Founders Day in College Auditorium. The function was inaugurated in the presence of the trustees of the Institute.
 
In the event of “Founders day” on 16.06.2009 a blood donation camp was organized and 80 pints of blood were donated to Govt. Wenlock Hospital.
 
 
In the event of “60th Birthday Ceremony” of our Trustee Mrs. Hima Urmila Shetty on 15.10.2009 a blood donation camp was organized and 50 pints of blood were donated to Govt. Wenlock Hospital.
 
 
The Formal inaugural Ceremony of Red Ribbon Club was held on 4th December 2009 at the seminar hall in Dr. M.V. Shetty College of Physiotherapy, Mangalore
 
 
 
The N.S.S Camp was inaugurated by Mrs Susan Varghese, the. Principal Dr M.V.Shetty College of the Physiotherapy. In her inaugural Speech she emphasized the Motto of NSS to the cadets. The Taluk Panchayat President Mr Ramachandra kumphala presided the function and Mrs Ganga Bhai the School headmistresses appreciated the efforts and plans of the NSS Coordinator and wished all the very best for the Special Campaign.
 
Faculty Development
 
Prof .U .T. Ifthikar ali Appointed for Board of  Studies Member for the 3rd Consecutive time on 4th February.
 
Our staffs attended a workshop on “Teaching methodology” at NITTE Institute of Physiotherapy on 20th August 2009.
 
On the occasion of world physiotherapy day our staffs and students attended a workshop on “Teaching methodology” at Dr M V Shetty College of Physiotherapy.
 
Sports and Fitness Federation of India in Association with Physiotherapy Interns Association organized one day workshop on “ Recent trends in Physiotherapy” on 10th October 2009 in Maulana Azaad College of Physiotherapy, Delhi.

Our college was Considered as Secretariat Office for National Conference Of (IAP) which was held on January 20th to 26th in Dr TMA Pai International convention centre. More than four thousands delegates attended the conference from India and Abroad. Pre and Post Conference sessions Includes Eminent Resourse persons from various nations such as USA, UK, Canada, Singapore, Japan, Australia.
 


Our college hosted Pre conference session of 48th annual conference of IAP on 20th to 21st January 2010. Prof Meg Elayne Morris from Australia spoke on “ Movement Disorders”.

Dr J Andrews Milton presented his research paper titled “The combined effectiveness of mulligans headache SNAG and Muscle energy techniques on cervicogenic headache” on the 48th annual conference of Indian Association of Physiotherapist held at TMA Pai Convention Hall from 22nd to 24th Jan 2010.

Dr. Kamath Sahana Srinivas MPT presented her research paper titled “Childhood obesity – A cross sectional study among school children” on the 48th Annual conference of Indian Assoication of Physiotherapists held at TMA Pai Convention Hall, Mangalore from 22nd to 24th Jan. 2010.
